Bislett FK keen on winning an unprecedented back-to-back promotion

After a very successful season, during which both the first and second team of Bislett FK got promoted, the club’s management is now gearing up for the next season. They want to win back-to-back promotion to the 6th division.

“We know it won’t be easy to win back-to-back promotion, but if ever we had the team to do it, it’d be this team!” says Bislett FK Chairman, Geraldo Cantuaria. “We have a perfect recipe for the win: two managers that have the experience needed to win the league, plus we won’t lose as many quality players as we did in previous years. The club’s future looks really bright both on and off the pitch.”

“Off the pitch, we have revived the Bislett Social Club (BSC),” Geraldo continues, “The BSC is a big part of the Bislett FK culture. Our social events are always fun and bring our players closer together. Especially for players that are new to Oslo and join our club, it’s a great way to make new friends and amp up their social life.”

The 10-match unbeaten run

Since Ben Briggs and Erik Reijrink, Bislett FK’s 1st team managers, took over the team, Bislett FK has been on fire, and finished in the top of their division each year. Their recent record speaks for itself with 10 straight wins, scoring 3,8 goals a game.

With a winning streak like this, the club is ready to take on a new division and compete for the top places straight away. And the managers dare to dream big and are confident back-to-back promotion is possible.

We’re only getting started

“Two and a half years ago, Ben Briggs, Dan Whymark, Matt Morrison, and myself started the project to bring Bislett FK to the 5th division in Oslo,” says Erik Reijrink. “Our promotion last year was only the first step. This season we will try to win the promotion again. We are looking for new players to challenge the current squad and to keep things fresh. Because we want to continue playing our free-flowing counter-pressing football.”

“Being Dutch myself, I’ve got the typical Dutch football DNA in me. Which means we want to play attacking football and win by scoring more goals than our opponents,” says Erik.

Ben Briggs is quick to add: “Agreed, we need attack-minded players, but they need to help the team out defensively. At the moment we have a group that has a lot of grit, determination and a strong will to win. We are looking for players that are willing to work for the team. Our defense starts with our front players.”

Why don’t you join Bislett Fotball Klubb. We are looking for new players to kick start our new project: Bislett FK to the 5th division.

We understand it can be frustrating to train three times a week and not play 90 minutes when game day arrives. Or if you can’t hold down a starting spot in the team because you simply can´t make it to training every time. Why spend so much time, while not fully enjoying your football?

At Bislett Fotball Klubb we have recently started a new project: We want to bring Bislett FK to the 5th division in Oslo. (And higher if we can!) This year Bislett Fotball Klubb will have a completely new management team. A team that is ambitious.

With our new Dutch first team manager, we are looking to implement a fun and offensive style of playing. Total football?? We are not naive, but we will implement a blueprint in both the 11´s teams we have. And we will train on the best pitches available in Oslo.

If you are a player, playing 4th, 5th, or 6th division football in Oslo and do you want to be able to play 90 minutes of football and train once a week. Then Bislett Football Klubb is perfect for you. Be ambitious and join our project.

Bislett Fotball Klubb, a unique football club in Oslo

In Oslo, there is no other club like Bislett FK. We are the international football club in Oslo. We have players from all over the world. From Brazil to Australia, and even from Sweden.

Bislett Fotball Klubb has a very unique identity. We are the only club in Oslo that combines competitive performances on the pitch with a very easy going and social atmosphere off the pitch.

Many of our players have played for traditional Norwegian clubs, before joining Bislett Fotball Klubb. And all players experienced the same thing. Once the football part was over, the club had nothing else to offer. For us at Bislett FK it´s important that we have a good time outside of football as well. We like to enjoy good beer at a local pub, and we don’t shy away from some good old banter either!

8th division Oslo

This year Bislett Fotball Klubb will have two senior teams in the 8th division here in Oslo. This means that both teams will play on a Friday evening. Which means both teams can meet up at one of our favorite pubs in Oslo after the game.

Since the NFF has completely rearranged the Oslo division for the upcoming season, both league´s we play in will be more competitive. We want to add new players to our squad that have played at a higher level before, so we can push for promotion.

Both our first and second team will play the same formation and the same style of football. This way we can groom the players in the second team to be ready when the first team needs them.
